Love Notes Around the World

Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. Love Notes Around The World is a volunteer-led American Cancer Society platform where individuals and groups have opportunities to create, share, and/or send messages of compassion to cancer patients in treatment, caretakers, care providers, and others in need.

Three Ways to Get Involved

Create Love Notes

You can create your own cards, download any artwork from the Love Note Library, send an eCard to someone you know, use arts and craft supplies you have at home, or purchase cards at your local store.

Dos and Don'ts

Do

  • Decorate the cards in a bright cheerful and encouraging manner
  • Sample thoughts:
    • “Just a note to let you know I am thinking of you and wishing you well with your treatment”
    • “We may never meet yet know that I care. Stay Strong!”
    • “Know that you are not along in this journey – many of us are supporting you”
    • “You are an inspiration to many!”
    • “You are stronger than you realize, I believe in you!”
    • “You are a superhero!”
    • (if applicable) “From one survivor to another, the road ahead may not be easy, but YOU got this and I am cheering you on!”

Don’t

  • Include your last name or identifiable personal information when you sign the card. Instead try something like this
    • Use your first name and state, like “John from Idaho”
    • “Sincerely, an American Cancer Society Volunteer”
  • Reference any religious sentiments
  • Make cards specific to any holiday
  • Include any medical advice
  • Seal individual envelopes (if mailing in bulk)

Send Love Notes

Send your Love Notes Around The World to those who need inspiring messages. You can give them out to Survivors & Caregivers at your event, drop them off at local hospitals and cancer treatment facilities, or mail to one of the addresses listed below. If you are mailing more than one Love Note, please do not individually seal envelopes contained inside the package.
